Health Services for Children & Youth Department of Health Logo: Promote. Prevent. Protect

The District of Columbia Department of Health (DOH) recognizes the importance of keeping our kids healthy and strong. Throughout the summer, DOH conducts various health education and outreach programs for District youth, children, and adolescents. Also, DOH provides health screenings, immunizations, and many other comprehensive health services.

For more information, please call (202) 671-5000 or visit the DOH website. To learn more about these and other health opportunities, select from the links below:

Immunization Clinics
Our clinics provide free immunizations to eligible children and adults through special walk-in evening clinics and community-supported events.  The Immunization Program also conducts educational workshops, immunization medical records assessments, and communicable disease outbreak control investigations.

  • Blood Lead Poisoning
The Lead Program screens children for increased blood lead levels and monitors children with high lead blood levels.

  • Maternal and Family Health
The link below provides information about services offered by the Maternal and Family Health Administration and provides contact information for dental services, eye care, the Washington Free Clinic, and other organizations and services that help women and children.
