Summer School Registration and Enrollment Information
Q: Who may enroll?
Students in grades K through 8 scoring below basic in reading in math according to DC BAS or Spring DC CAS.
Students in grades 9 through 12 who need three Carnegie units or less to be promoted or to graduate.
Teacher or principal recommended students that need the additional assistance to be better prepared for the next grade level.
High school students who need to take or retake classes to be on track for graduation and promotion.
Students eligible for Extended School Year (ESY) and/or Compensatory Education (CE) as written in their IEPs.
English Language Learners eligible for services.
Q: How and when do I enroll?
Elementary School: students must complete an application to attend the morning and afternoon programs.
Middle School: students must complete the summer school application. There is no afterschool program for middle school students.
High School: students have to complete the summer school application and will be assisted by the school counselors to register on line for the appropriate courses.
Applications for summer school will be sent home after March 20, 2009.
All completed applications should be returned to the student’s home school no later than May 1, 2009. Eligible elementary and middle school applicants will be served on first come first served basis.
